It’s not uncommon to find items of food within tombs, but the curiosity peaks when peanuts are found within one in China.
Peanuts are now very popular, but it was believed they were only first introduced to China from another land some 500 years ago.
However, an archaeological find in a secondary site by the Hanyang Tomb in Northwest China’s Shaanxi province may very well set the record straight… or straighter at least.
Among the items found - peanuts. That would indicate peanuts have been in China for more than fifteen-hundred years; not the mere 500 years commonly believed.
